Water restrictions
Wellington City Council
Wellington has year-round restrictions on sprinklers and unattended garden hoses. Use is only allowed between 6.00am - 8.00am and 6.00pm - 8.00pm on alternate days. If you have an even-numbered address, you can use sprinklers on even days of the month and vice versa. More stringent restrictions may apply during summer months.
Hutt City Council
Hutt City has garden watering restrictions in place during daylight saving to reduce peak consumption and to avoid resulting pressure and flow fluctuations. The garden watering restrictions allow:
- use of one sprinkler or unattended hose between 6am - 8am and 7pm - 9pm on alternate odd/even days (odd numbered houses on odd numbered days etc)
- careful use of a hand-held hose at any time
