Your water networks run from hills, rivers and lakes, beneath city streets, through homes and businesses, to harbours and the sea.
It's important such an extensive, complex system is run in a coordinated way - especially for something as important as water.
Capacity manages the three water networks - water, wastewater and stormwater - for Wellington, Hutt and Upper Hutt city councils.
That includes looking after more than:
5,000km of pipes
119 reservoirs
175 pump stations
The three councils together spend around $100 million a year on maintaining and improving the three water networks.
