Consultation

Capacity Infrastructure Services specialises in infrastructure based management services including resource consent consultations. Our staff are skilled in the project management of complex resource consent matters.
We tend to do a lot of work with our clients applying for new resource consents often in the wastewater treatment and management areas.
Each consent application we work on includes consultation with affected and interested parties.
Some examples of recent consultation work undertaken with Wellington City Council has included:
-
Western Wastewater Treatment Plant (Karori) – consent for the continuing operation and discharge of treated wastewater from the plant.
Consent to renew the operation of the Western Wastewater Treatment Plant was granted by Greater Wellington Regional Council in December 2006. Appeals have been lodged by Wellington City Council and two other parties concerning the duration and conditions of the consent decisions. These issues continue to be worked through.
-
Moa Point Wastewater Treatment Plant – consent for the continuing operation and discharge of treated wastewater from the plant.
We have lodged a resource consent application to continue to operate the Moa Point Wastewater Treatment Plant for a further 35 years. Through this work at the plant we have looked at our wastewater network upgrading options to mitigate the effects of wastewater overflows and UV treatment of the overflows. Our resource consent application will offer UV treatment as a means of mitigating the effects of wastewater overflows.
We are continuing to work with Wellington City Council on the resource consent renewals for the discharge of contaminated stormwater into the harbour during heavy rainfall.
We are also working with Hutt City Council on resource consent for wastewater overflows into Waiwhetu Stream.
